TONNER CO. KILLS MARILYN MONROE!

Tonight Tonner’s 2012 Flights of Fancy Convention ended in tragedy Robert Toner and his gang of goons KILLED Marilyn Monroe!

The long awaited and much anticipated Marilyn Monroe “ Gentlemen Prefer Blondes “ event ended up being a huge disappointment!!
Robert Tonner & Co. released 2 of the worst Marilyn Monroe dolls the world has ever seen tonight at their Flights of Fancy convention. He and his team deserve to be restricted from ever making dolls and should publicly apologize to the doll collector community and gay men around the world.

Marilyn Monroe is an icon in both Hollywood and in The Gay Community. Gay men around the world are grasping their pearls and crying “why why why What have you done to Marilyn!’ An icon needs to look just like the icon! Marilyn has always been know for her curvy body…big breast and huge bottom…these attributes are what made her a star and an icon. Even today the fashion a beauty industry look to Marilyn to define the standard or beauty. Robert Tonner Shame on you!

The tables at the dinner hall held the first of the 2 dolls. (I would be surprised if anyone was able to eat with this doll looking at them….I am sure a lot of people will be ordering room service tonight) There she stood as the centerpiece a 22” very slim Marilyn she actually seems to be anorexic, not one curve to be found anywhere. She does not look like Marilyn Monroe at all her face and body are way to thin it looks like someone impersonating her, like a caricature of Marilyn. (or a really bad drag queen) I often read blogs about Tonner Dolls and people go on and on about how great Tonner is with the details of their dolls, well I am here to say NO WAY GIRLFRIEND!, Tonner seems to get the details wrong more often then right, case in point. I have to say one detail Tonner has mastered is the art of PHOTO SHOP. It appears that these dolls are more photo shopped then Madonna’s hands. The first photo of this 22” disappointment comes from Tonner…You will note that the bow on Marilyn’s dress is perfect just as if she was returning to the set of Diamonds are a Girls Best friend. Please note pink shoes! Really anyone who has ever seen this movie can tell you she had black shoes on! What ever back to the bow, in the second photo of her, actually on the table you will see the bow is really just flopping down…not at all like the first photo…on the bright side the bow flopping down does make her butt look bigger. I can't tell if she is smiling or getting ready to throw up. Well that could explain why she is so thin! I could go on and on about this doll but I am so over it..you look at the photos and judge for yourself.

At this point I have no expectations for the Marilyn souvenir. “Animal magnetism “ Which is a good thing because again her body is all wrong Tonner is using the starlet body for this version and don’t get me wrong this is an ok body just not for Marilyn the breast are way to small..the butt seems ok but over all this too is just another big mistake by Robert Tonner. This Marilyn is from Gentlemen perfer Blondes great movie I wish this doll lived up to the roll Marilyn played. Tonner also decide to use the plain old Tyler Wentworth hands on this doll, I think it would have improved the doll a little if they use the new more expressive hands from the Nu Mood collection, just another detail Tonner decided to over look. Details Details Details ! Speaking of I love this BLACK DRESS…to bad the costume Marilyn actual wore was AUBERGINE, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON AROUND HERE! As well in the film Marilyn actual had a big diamond ring on her left hand, NOT A BRACLET. Well at least Tonner is consistent. If your going get one detail wrong you should just forget about them all!

Poor Marilyn, even she Screamed when she saw these dolls!

Over all I just expected more for these doll and from Robert Tonner I am in tears and disappointed is an understatement!

  1. I cant say how much I AGREE with you on the quality and likeness of these dolls. Thanks for stating your HONEST opinion! I am a Marilyn Monroe collector (mostly of her dolls, i have 14 in all so far) and i can say that i have 8 MM Franklin Mint Vinyl Marilyn dolls and none of which lack Marilyn's likeness like these dolls do. These dolls look more like Nicole Kidman to me.
